Hi, I’m Nikolai.

I’m from Woodside, California, a small town outside of San Francisco.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematic Arts Production at USC, and am now working in Production in New York City on independent films, taking photos and writing screenplays in my spare time.

Most of my film photography is shot on Fuji Xtra 400s or Portra 400 with either my Canon AE1 or Leica M4.

The digital photography is shot on my Sony A7sII, Canon 5D Mk3, or Canon 7D.

Video is shot on Sony A7sII, Canon 5D Mk3, Canon 7D or Sony FS700.

I love retro things and wish I could go back in time to take film photos, watch movies on celluloid, listen to vinyl, and drive an old Mustang. But, the digital era has its perks, too.
